View Full Version : slower charging on usb 2.0?
Hi, I just got a 4G 40 gig iPod from the Apple Store and I love it. I have it connected to my Windows XP PC using USB 2.0 and it seems to be taking rather long to charge. Is this normal? Thanks

It don't charge at all on USB2!!!
You have to connect to power supply via the firewire still to charge!

The 4Gs do charge on USB2. Mine charged, just really slowly.

I wonder if the difference in voltage is the reason. Firewire, apparently, provides 12V where USB only provides 5V.

Eject it from windows but leave it plugged in. When not ejected, the drive spins and use power.
