I have Windows 98 SE and I am considering buying a 20GB ipod or a CReative Nomad 30GB mp3.

I just want an honest opinion on how difficult it is to have Win 98 for the ipod? Or does it really not matter? Will I have to upgrade my memory with an ipod?

I have read the post on setting it up, but I wanted to know if the ipod will cause my computer to crash since it is not Windows 2000 or XP. And is something like a Creative Nomad better for Windows 98SE?

Thank you.

Also, approximately how many playlists can you create with an ipod? is it an endless amount, or does it have a limit?

Welcome to the lounge. I can't help you with windows 98SE cause I have XP but the threads below may be of assistance to you since these people posted how they got the ipod to work on their systems.

Here is some info that might help you: http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=38427 and http://www.ipodlounge.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=31257

There is no set number of playlist that you can make but there is a limit because the HD is limited.
