volume cap on euro model

hi,

I'm new here but I'm considering a G3 win-pod purchase on Thursday at an airport (save 17.5 percent VAT at dixons). So I'm thinking about the 15 gigger (or maybe 30 but it seems a bit pricey).

Only thing putting me off a little is a message I saw relating to a volume cap on european models. Why do they do this ? I think I can protect my own ears to be honest. Is it really a big problem and is there any way around it ?
