I'm a bit wary that it'll look a bit, well... gold? I wouldv'e gone for pink or silver or blue... ie not green or gold... anyone got any real pictures of one?

Well first off, congratulations on the new mini. I have to say that I don`t hate the gold, but I am not such a fan either. I went to an Apple store before I bought my mini online (they only had displays, none for sale ;) ) to make sure of what color I wanted. I would recommend going to an Apple store (or any electronics store that carries minis) and just look at the display minis to get an idea of color.

Are you the type of Player that can chill with the bling bling on a regular basis?
I am not. Gold just doesn't mix with me. Somehow it looks cheap on me. But there are others out there that make gold look right at home. Signs of vanity doesn't show with all the gold they cover themselves with. I have seen the gold in store and it isn't really all that "goldy", but it is the goldest one you can get.
If you have another favorite color and you can change it, I would go for another, but that is just my opinion. You should get what YOU want.

I like the gold one because it matches wit ma teef.

Actually from what I have seen of it, the gold mini is not blingy at all. It looks very tame, almost closer to champagne than gold. The picture on the site http://www.apple.com/ipodmini/ is pretty accurate.

To be honest though, I would switch to Blue or Silver if possible because not only do they look better in my opinion, you will also have a better chance of receiving them early.

I love my gold one "King Ghidorah". Green was my first choice, but was sold out by the time I convinced my wife to let me buy one from CC online. I really think the gold is impressive looking. The silver is too common (for a mini), the pink and blue are/could be a bit feminine, and some just don't dig green. Enjoy that gold mini man, it's a beautiful piece of technology!

wow man. you are so lucky to get a gold ipod. silver ipod is so lame and over used. everyone has them. the baby blue and pink are to feminine.. gold is the bomb! and so is green. green rocks but i still would get gold over green. (green is a lil "feminine) gold is more unique and original it reminds me of a rusted orange color. youll be happy with the gold trust me.

if I ever get an ipod mini(I doubt I will because I got a 15gb a few months ago) it would definately be gold.

Well I personaly have the green one and it is sweet! The silver is way to bland; the pink is cool, but theres no question some insecure people would make fun of it. Blue is also cool, but green is my fav color. And then there is gold, meh I dont lie it, it looks like old brass candel holders (I know wird description, huh? lol) but yea thats just my opinion.

I really like the orange glow of the Gold mini. The more I see it, the more I like it.

I really like gold. It's not gold gold, but more like champagne, as mentioned. And of course, there's the uniqueness and rarity of it. It's definitely my second favorite. :)

I know that it isn't "GOLD" gold. I have seen it many times in the store. The point is that it is labeled "Gold" and the first impression people that haven't seen them will think of Gold, not champagne.
Green was of course my first choice, but Silver is common and that is what was obtainable for me. I would exchange it if they have other colors at bestbuy soon.

as it was a gift and has already been ordered I think it's too late to change the colour and I don't think it would go down well... "thanks for the iPod mini but can I change it" ya know? The pink would've been my favourite, I love silver and blue but they're a bit same old, green would be too weird as I'm Irish and it'd be a bit much... :) I just can't wait to get it regardless of colour!!

Hey man

I have a gold. It looks really cool, its not like a gold watch, I would describe it as a washed out gold, or champagne. Have you seen those modern stainless steel fridges? Theyre also brushed metal, so they have the same effect, theyre not shiny, but you can tell what colour it is.

I would rather have gold than "flouro" pink, blue or green. Pink is for those dumb chicks who think theyre sexy. Silver is for people who are unsure of themselves and and want to fit in. Gold is in between, it's a classy understatement.

I just pulled that completely out of my ###, but I'm sure you get my drift.

Once you go with gold, you'll never look back!
