mp3 alarm not working

After receiving my ipod this week I immediately upgraded to the 2.0.1 firmware. I've noticed that I can't select mp3s as my alarm sound; only the beep sound is available.

I checked apple's site and their animated demo shows the on-the-go playlist being selected. I created an on-to-go playlist thinking that this would solve the problem but I'm still not given a choice in the alarm sounds menu.

Has anybody experienced the same problem? Is this bug present in the 2.0.0 firmware?

I had the same problem. When I upgraded to firmware 2.0.1, the bug was fixed... just about.

When going to the alarm playlist selection, click on the playlist you want it to play as the alarm. It will still display "beep", but the playlist you selected will play. I wake up to my favorite playlist everyday - except when I get choked by my earphone wire. :D

but i can't get mine to NOT play a playlist, i just want the beep. I doubt that always showing "beep" in the alarm sound setting is intentional!
