Hi there,
My first post here, so hello to all.
I've been fiddling with my beloved (iPod, not wife), and thought i would share what i do with mine, and see what you do with yours!
1. Walkies - Nothing quite like walking on the beach with Urban Chill in my ears and sand between my toes
2. In-Car - the tape adapter and ipod work wonderfully, 2k+ songs aaaall the way to work. very rarely get repeats!
3. At Home - again the tape adapter connected to my stereo bring the wonders of iPod to myself (and my neibours).
4. On The Web - my iPod also playes music via winamp, which in turn updates the "iPod Recently Played" box on my site (http://www.lemonfridge.com)
5. GTA3 - I just figured out how to get my iPod into games to! i can now drive around in GTA3/VC with a full 2k+ playlist (http://www.lemonfridge.com/playlist.html) on the in-car mp3 station :)
I'm a happy lad indeed. SO, what do you do with yours?
cool site and I love the idea of using your ipod playlist in GTA3. I'm a big winamp fan too!

How exactly did you get GTA to play your playlist? And how did you get your iPod playlist to post to your site? Just curious. Love those ideas.

Monkey, i'm about to move back to Australia after spending a number of years in London. If you're cruising through Melbourne flash your white shiny thing out the Window (i'm talking about your iPod).............might just see you.
Have a great trip.

I dont understand what you mean when you say that your ipod plays music via winamp? What do you mean?

ok
1. iPod & Winamp: I use XPlay, so all i do, is view the files or playlists i wanna listen to, and then right-click and Play. it runs winamp and plays the sweet sweet sounds.
2. iPod & The Inter-web-net: Using the above method to play music means u can use winamps plug-ins. i download the DoSomething (http://www.oddsock.org/tools/dosomething/) plug-in, and set it to generate a "recently played" box, and also to upload it. (FYI - i then used SSI to load it into my site design)
3. iPod & GTA3: using XPlay again, i went to the Songs menu, selected everything, then hit Copy (waited 5min for it to work), then went to the mp3 folder in GTA3, and hit Paste Sort-cut. again i had to wait for it to create all 2k short-cuts.
once that was done, it all worked. BUT, it takes a few min for the game to start now. if it doesnt start, re-start the game, and then hold the iPod to your ear, if it isnt crackling away like a busy little HDD, the game has crashed. just re-start. it'll work 80% of the time.
have fun.

####, I was hoping you found a way to get the iPod to work with the PS2 version of GTA :)

Chris,
Great site and great playlist.
I use my ipod with MC9. I also have the ex71 sony headphones. Recommend very much. I use the ipod on the way to work (only a short 20 minute walk) and then listen at my desk all day. I support an ERP software system throughout Asia (over 2000 users submitting help calls) so the music helps keep me sane. At home, I have bought the new creative speakers advertised here on this site and the sound is awesome....great bass.
A question? Your playlist has a lot of similarities with mine and therefore am intrigued by one band I have never heard of. Apollo Forty Four. Who are these like and can you give me some album titles?
Cheers,
Paul
