I'm lookin for a good setup to install my Ipod in my car. I don't have an aux line in, therefor I thought a wired m modulator would be the best option. What's the soundquality with a wired FM modulator. Is it as good as a line in or as bad as a FM transmitter? Can I apply the same options and accessories as with a Line In?
Thanx in advance for answering.

Quality is as good or even better than line in. My limited experience with a modulator leads me to believe this is the way I'll go for a hardwired connection. The modulator that connects my XM radio to the factory radio in my Yukon has been trouble free for over 2 years.

As usual, my 2 cents worth! ;-)

I had a wireless transmitter and now have a wired one. The wired transmitter sounds 100 times better than the wireless one. Alot of people hear FM Modulator and relate it to the wireless one, but the truth is the wired Modulator works well.
On most of my songs it sounds great but on some rock songs there seems to be to much bass and not enough treble, it sounds kind of muffled. I am thinking I have to mess with the EQ a little, but thru headphones it sounds fine.
Anyone have any suggestions???
Does anyone else have this problem??

A wired FM modulator will sound no better than FM radio, an AUX line-in is a superior connection...but a wired FM modulator isn't a bad way to go if you can't manage to get a line-in to your headunit.
