My Ipod Only Gets MPEG not AAC and I dont' know How To CHange It

I've been trying for hours now to put some music in my ipod and it seems that every time I update my the songs onto my ipod I only get the songs that are in MPEG format and not AAC and I don't know how to change it. Is there something that Im missing here ? :confused:

Are you using iTunes to transfer the songs? If yes, do you have the latest version 4.6?

Does your iPod have the lastest version installed? The 2nd gen iPods are ver. 1.4. Check under Settings>About.

Can you play the AAC tracks in iTunes?

I see...Yeah, I do have a second Gen. Ipod, and Yes it does have Version 1.4. and my iTunes is the 4.6 version.

My iTunes also plays the AAC tracks.

What do I have to change so that I can get my music to upload?

Exactly how are you trying to transfer the songs to the iPod-auto sync or manually? Also did you run the updater to format your iPod?

I do it by auto Sync, and my friend updated it for me and it now works! Thanks For the help honeybee1236. You're awesome.
