Has anyone used this product from Monstercable?

I currently have a belkin tunecast, but sound quality is kind of crappy. I'm hoping for a decent setup like this, because I switch vehicles often at work, and want my tunes with me.

The iCarplay is a very reasonable solution. Good signal strength and a charger in a single cable solution. Works well. EZ setup.

I had it, and hated it. Any music softer than full-bore non-stop sound was clouded with staticky hiss, and the numb high-frequency response rendered any stereo imaging into a near-mono sound. I returned it the next day and ordered an adapter to get RCA inputs into my stock head unit's unused CD changer socket.

Sorry, but that's my experience. If it works in your metropolitan area, and matches your vehicle's radio setup (antenna type & location, etc), it might do OK.

Mine also has quite a high noise floor. I tried all the station options, but every one was noisy in my area.....guess I'll try an iTrip.

I started out with an iTrip, but I didn't I wasn't happy with the sound quality, and wanted a charger, so I switched to the iCarPlay. I'm very happy with it.

Really each set up is different. You just have to try one out and see if it works in your area and with your car. This applies for ALL FM transmitters.

I get pretty good results in the L.A. area with mine. Some days are better then others. Perhaps it's affected by the weather. I don't know..but if it's cloudy it does seem to have more hiss in it then other times. So I recommend trying it out in your area, and try all the stations over a period of a week or so to see how you feel about it.

I used an iTrip for a while in my car and it was okay, but not many empty spots in ATL. And what would be empty in one spot wasn't necessarily completely empty in another.

I now use a Belkin power adapter (the one with the "line out") and a Monster cassette adapter -- I leave these plugged in and just hook up to the iPod's dock connector.

The sound is tons better than using the FM transmitter and is still just one cable connection to the bottom of the iPod. Of course if you switch cars frequently or don't have a cassette adapter this won't work nearly as well. :)

I bought the Belkin on eBay for ~$16 shipped (need to be patient), the Monster cassette adapter was another $15 from Microcenter.

I still like my iTrip for use around the house with a boombox since it's not moving around a bunch.
