if you check out the downloads tab at the top of he page, there is a section for 3rd party apps for windows, and there are several that do just what you are looking for. some are also free, but others are shareware. take your pick and good luck!

If anyone has good luck transferring from iPod to iTunes I'd love to hear about it. I've tried PodUtil, iPod Agent, and EphPod without having success. PodUtil had error 9 running setup, iPod Agent wouldn't unzip, and I don't know how to use EphPod and want to stay with iTunes! Would love any suggestions on simply transferring iPod files back to iTunes. I lost all when crossing over to another laptop.

This is what I tried in Win Explorer:
1. Start Explorer
2. Look for iPod hard drive : iPod_Control\Music
3. Copy this directory and then paste it somewhere on your regular hard drive
4. Start iTunes and tell it to get somgs from just pasted directory
5. All done
Someone suggested this before. But, when I search for iPod_Control\Music I receive a "file not found" message.
I have my iPod Preferences set to manual and also set NOT to open iTunes when attached. I've a 20G iPod with about 15G+ on it.
If somebody could spoon feed me this process I and I'm sure many others would be obliged!

Yakpaoro: Did you speak with Shadow about the iPod Agent? If your using an earlier version, he has 0.7.0 out and I've downloaded it without a problem. If this is the one you were using and could not get it to unzip, speak with Shadow here:

No need for third party software. I finally figured out what I was doing. Had to reveal hidden folders then remove read only and it was pretty straight forward. Thanks for the replies.
