USB 2.0 Question

Thanks to everyone who answers my questions...anyway

Im not sure if i have a USB 2.0 card or just a USB 1..is there anyway of checking?

Also will the apple ipod usb cable i buy work even if i have a USB 1 card? i dont mind if its slow as hell, aslong as it works lol.

Works on USB 1, too. As for checking which one it is, I'll leave for some else to tell.

Found via a quick Google search:

Well, it's not too hard to find out if your PC has Hi-Speed (USB 2.0) or not. Right click "My Computer" select "Properties" (or from Control Panel go to "System") then select the "Hardware" tab. Locate and expand the Universal Serial Bus section.

If it shows an "Enhanced" USB Host Controller, then you have USB 2.0 capability. If not, then you have the slower USB 1.0 or 1.1

what do i do if My computer supports the 1.1, I don't have anything that say I have an "enhanced" connection. Will I still be alble touse the 2.0 that comes with the mini. or can I use a 1.1 cable that I already have. Will they be compatible?

Yes, 2.0 devices are compatible with 1.1 connections. The transfer rate will just be slower (1.1 speeds vs. 2.0 speeds). Part of the USB 2.0 spec is that all USB 2.0 devices must be backward compatible with USB 1.1.
