Anyone done a Silverado install

Just curious if anyone has done the install in this vehicle aside from rrrad? I would like to mount it somewhere that woudn't block any of the vents if possible I have a folding middle seat, so the console isn't an option. I was thinking somehow in the ash tray, but not sure.

Too Strange. I am in the same situation as you (Silverado with bench seat), and was contemplating the ashtray on my drive to work earlier.

I was thinking about attaching the dock to the silver(removable) part of the ash tray, but that is just a 1st thougt.

Any experience from others would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah, I was thinking of securing a dock inside the tray so it can slide in and out. Gotta test fit it, may be too high. Either switch the location or dremel out some of the ash tray.

In conjunction with a Pro-Clip mount, you'd have a full solution without needing a hack.

While that's a slick setup, it's a little pricey for my blood, and I have a 2001, so I'm out of luck on that one.
