iPod & Windows 98

I know. Another Windows 98 question, but I have to be sure...

I'm contemplating whether or not to buy an iPod, but at the moment, I'm running on Windows 98 (First Edition). I won't go into why, but right now I can't upgrade my version of Windows or install a FireWire card.

Is there any hope for me to be able to use an iPod with just the USB I have now? or is the Firewire card absolutely necessary?

Can't speak to the USB matter, tho I believe you can load the pod with it, it just won't charge thru it but... you must have W98se for any of the third party software to work, since neither iTune nor MMJB will.

Read the forums, USB is fine. iPod won't charge with USB, but for connecting it's okay.
