Somebody please help......
Im having a bit of a major stress... I have a 30gb ipod formatted to windows.. put a few new albums on my ipod after ive had a few months, when the ipod finished in the artist section of the ipod the new artisit were shown about 7-15 times.. how annoying!!!!! i then deleted the tracks and downloaded the albums by a different category (Artist, album etc). Each time the same problem!
So i went to drastic measures and removed all the tracks, about 900ish. Then to my surprise theres still 28 songs on my ipod, all of which were duplicates that were shown after i put them on my ipod. Every time i plug my ipod in my firewire port and the portable device box displays it doesnt show these songs, even tho it says the space is being used!!!! How can i remove these tracks from my ipod and how can stop this duplication problem, if anyone can help id be very grateful thanks

have you tried (At your OWN risk) a restore from the updater?

are there any spaces or other characters in the track titles or artist names that are not in the other 'set'? do a listing in iTunes (or whichever app you are using) to see if they are duplicated there - if they are, then that's what will go across to the iPod.

check here for the how to...

by 'sets' i meant compare the artist/albums that are duplicated. but do the iTunes listing first, and make sure you sort in the main library, and not in any playlist. at this stage don't restore yet since that may not be necessary.

good luck!
