My ipod has been working fine for a while. I use it on my windows computer. However, when I plugged it into my friend's windows computer, the entire hard drive on the ipod was wiped. I heard from a friend that there is some conflict the ipod has if it's already configured for a computer and is plugged into a different one. He said you have to enable sharing or something and if you didn't, every time you connected your ipod with another computer, it would be reset.
Is this true? If so, is there any way to prevent it? Or was I just unlucky with the computer I plugged it into?

Thsi happend to me too, it sucks and u only find out about it when u do it!!
I had music on two computers. I synced with one of them. Then on my other computer, i installed itunes and synces my reamining 4 songs from that other computer (i had downloaded like 800 songs from the first computer, i jsut installed i tunes on this other one for a few songs.) BAM!! 800 songs were replaced by the 4 songs!!!!! SO I guess whne u put it into another computer it overwrites the existing ones, and theres no other way. but i found a solution!!
First, on the computer with the majority of songs, enable disk use. Then , go to the otehr computer, open the ipod drive from my computer and drag and drop all of the music files into that folder. (whe nu open the drive folder, create a small forlder called music orsomething) The songs will not be playable, though.
Then, go to the other computer and hook up the ipod. Open up the drive and drag all of the songs u copied to ur computer. Then erase them from the iPod folder. If u have 2.0 or firewire, it shouldnt take too long. Then, using itunes, sync the newly aquired songs on ur hard drive to the iPod , and there
All of ur music!
