My harddrive gave out, and with it went one of my iTunes activations. Is there any way to gain an additional activation?

you can activate on up to 5 computers at one time.

I know that.
Sorry to be rude, but when i put a new hard drive in, that computer theoretically counts as 2 computers, because of the time that i was unable to deactivate it.

If you email apple they can remotly deauthorize your computers

Under iTunes' Help Menu select Music Store help. It should take you to the music store page where you can submit a request to Apple. This is from the help topic on my computer.
If you have trouble deauthorizing the computer, visit the Music Store billing support webpage at www.apple.com/support/itunes/authorization.html.
