Smart Playlist Live Updating

I've created several Smart Playlists to play random songs by genre on my third generation 40 GB iPod. I have each playlist set to match the following condition by genre and limit it to 15 songs selected by random, and have the Live Updating checked. This Live Updating works perfect on the my computer, at the end of the playlist it'll update the song selection. When it comes to my iPod it'll complete playing the last song and not update the selection. I've tried going back to the main menu on the iPod after finishing the playlist in hopes that it would refresh the playlist but that doesn't seem to work. I was just wondering if anyone else out there was having the same problem, if so maybe they can help me out and get this Live Update to work. Maybe you can share a few configurations of your Smart Playlists just so I don't have to listen to the same 15 songs ALL THE TIME.

Unfortunately, smart playlists are not as dynamic on the Ipod as they are in iTunes.

My experience has been that smart playlists will update on the iPod only if they include criteria that changes after a song has played (such as last played date and playcounts). For example, if you add the criteria "Last Played is not in the last 1 Day" to your random smart playlists they should refresh with new songs after songs have completed playing on your iPod (you still must exit the playlist and reenter for it to refresh). You would also not get any repeat songs for any given day.
