ipod songs not alphabetical any more!

After over a year of constant use, my 2G iPod has suddenly stopped listing my songs in alphabetical order making it a nightmare to find anything.

Albums and artists are still in alphabetical order, but songs ain't.

Any advice?

I'm running the latest firmware, using the latest iTunes for Windows, and running XP.

Are your songs in the incorrect order in your iTunes library as well? If so, try resorting by Song Title in iTunes and resyncing with your iPod.

Sorry - I should have said that I don't auto-sync. I manually copy songs across to my iPod.

Would this make a difference?

With auto-sync the tracks on the iPod will mirror the contents of iTunes (including the sort order).

Since I don't manually sync I'm not certain, but when the iPod is "mounted" can't you sort the contents of the iPod from within iTunes? If so, perhaps this might explain how the tracks got out of order (i.e. you accidently sorted the list based on some other tag).
