Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Although I think the icelink is great (when it works properly), it has one annoying problem of occasionally not putting the iPod to sleep when I turn off my car (a 2003 4Runner). I'm sure those of you who follow the forum have seen me complain about this annoying bug. It's gotten to the point I have to glance over at the iPod to make sure it's asleep before I exit the car.
The other annoying problem is that for the second time in the month or two I've had the icelink, the head unit switches to the radio while the iPod is playing because it can't see the icelink. No amount of turning the head unit off and on, doing the same to the iPod, removing it from the cradle or rebooting it gets the head unit to recognize it. I actually have to turn off the car and turn it back on for the head unit to see the iPod. Very annoying when you're driving an automatic because you have to pull over to turn off the car. It's not a problem with the connections because I double-checked them and nothing's loose.
I finally got around to emailing dension about it and it's been over a week and still no response. I figured a week was long enough to wait before I became more vocal about the problem here. Has anyone else with an icelink had the same problem? If it's just my icelink, then I just need dension to exchange me a new one but I'm having no luck getting a hold of them. If it's a problem inherent with the icelink, then I'll just get my money back and hold out for the alpine solution.
btw, if anyone from dension is reading this... you need to change how you're sending out your support registration confirmation email. Our mail server thinks it's spam.
