Hello. New here.
I have done some searching on the Ice-Link set-up. I am a bit confused I must admit.. I am instersted in the Ice-Link but need some questions answered to make sure the investiment in worth-while. Here is my current set-up:
iPod 3G, 20GB(dock connector), Kenwood head unit, Belkin Tune Dok, Audi 90 CS. I currently have the iPod running from the center console connecting to the head unit by the Monster headphone - RCA cable(very nice quality cable byt the way). Then the RCA connects to the AUX input adapter from Kenwood. Then essentially the AUX adapter into the head unit. This works fine for me but it is not ideal. I disabled some of my 12V aux connections(cig lighter, etc.) but still want to power the iPod.
So my questios are for the Ice-Link
1. Does the Ice-Link really support info of any sort on the head unit?
2. Is the quality superior to the headphone jack?
3. If using the 3G dock connector, how does the iPod charge? Is there an extra cable that needs to be routed to a power source?
4. If the power is constant from a 12V source how does one stop the iPid from going into "Charging" mode once car/head-unit is off?
5. How long is the Ice-Link cable?
6. Does the Ice-Link plug directly into the head unit's AuX port or does the Ice-Link require the head-units specific aux-RCA adapter(which I already have)
Thanx,
CvTech
