I just got my iPod, and I'm trying to install the software on my Mac. I put the disc in, but it doesn't want to install. I double-click the disc icon, and I just get a bunch of folders. I click on the Install folder, and I get more folders. What am I doing wrong? Sorry if this sounds stupid, but I pulling my hair out! Please help!

Allow me to answer my own question: It's because my Mac is running OS 9 and not OS X (10). Sure wish I'd known this before I bought the thing. So now I've got this pretty little device that serves no function--until I can afford to upgrade my computer.

I take it you're talking about v2.0 iPod Firmware?

Whichever software came with the latest iPods.

Yeah... it won't install from OS 9. If you can get it installed, it'll work with OS 9 (partially). But you need OS X to install it.
