Hi Everyone,
Finally bought a 10GB Mac iPod and decided to get a TAP at CompUSA like most of you suggested. CompUSA gave me the "Peripheral Carry-In Plan" TAP for 2 years for $39.99. I read the FAQ here and it said to get the "Mass Storage Device" TAP....my question is, are they basically the same so I am ok?
TIA...

Today I used my TAP for my 20GB and got the new 30GB....I also purchased a new TAP. They no longer sell "Mass Storage" TAPs for iPods, and the TAP that they DID sell me didn't come with a CD with the booklet that describes the terms & conditions...
I was told that they now base the TAP cost on the price of the product. A $499 30GB iPod has a 1 year TAP for $35, and a 2 year TAP for $60. I reluctantly purchased the 2 year TAP, and just looked at it as paying $60 to upgrade to my new iPod...
I'm not sure what the 1 & 2 year TAP prices are for the 10 and 15GB models.

As always, it seems that every CompUSA is going to treat things differently. When I bought a 10GB, I bought a TAP and got an upgrade to a 20GB, *no questions asked.* (I didn't even say it was broken - I just went in and asked about the terms of the plan, and they outright offered to switch it!) Bought a new TAP for the 20GB for the same price, $29.99.
I just used the plan to get a 30GB, but it was no longer an easy thing. They checked my iPod into their service center, and I had to wait a few days for their technician to confirm that something was wrong with it. (It actually was defective so I wasn't abusing the TAP plan.)
They sold me a NEW 2 year TAP plan for the 30GB for $29.99. I thought it was going to be $60 but I also wasn't going to argue. :)
