Ok, I know I can buy the kit from www.apple.com that connects my IPOD with my stereo, but I have little money and am wondering if there is a cheaper alternative.

What part are you talking about exactly?
The line out on the dock or the headphone jack to 2xRCA connectors?
If it's the latter, you should be able to pick it up at any electronics or audio store. Should be around $5...
With regards to the lineout, you can always just connect it up the the headphone port. Or look into a Sik Imp i think they are about USD30

I want to jus plug the cord directly into the IPOD's headphone port and then put other end into the auxillary ports on my stereo. Can you please give me a picture of what they look like because I searched on the internet and don't know if I got the right lookin thing.

Should I get bottom or top one and do any of you have either of these and if so how good is the quality.

Garret, I think any of the $3 - $10 Mini-to-RCA cables is going to be pretty much the same as far as quality goes. All will work fine, unless your a real "audiophile", and must have the highest-quality interconnect cables. I doubt most people would be able to notice a difference between the cheaper cables and that Monster cable. My $0.02...

Cool - was almost gonna buy a monster cable until I saw this thread.
Think I will stick with the nice and cheap wire!

Thanks alot everyone who contributed to this thread. I will be going down to my A&B sound in a few minutes and pickin up the mini to RCA cord.
i bought a ?3.99 AUX cable.....works a dream!...who wants to pay 5x that price for a slight slight slight improvement in sound? not me!

Mine was 4.99 Canadian and the guy wanted me to buy the 49.99 one, but I think my 4.99 cable works perfect great sound on my stereo.
