Hi all,
Just wanted to briefly report that I had a very positive experience with Apple service.
My friend's ipod wasn't working (even after trying every trick in the book) so I called up Apple (local call re-routed to Ireland) and spoke to a very helpful guy.
He quickly noticed he wasn't talking to an amateur (:)) and that no on-the-phone troubleshooting would solve the problem so he arranged a pick-up.
UPS delivered the empty package on Friday and picked it up on Tuesday.
Today Friday, a new ipod was on my doorstep. A brand new 15 gig ipod. Thank God for warranties :)
To dispel any myths:
- no I didn't have or need a receipt of any kind (even tho I had the ebay purchase email)
- the return package instructions were very easy to follow
- and so it seems that when they can't or decide not to fix a dead ipod they will give you a new one
May the dead ipod rest in peace...
