So heres the deal, most of you have already read the apple no longer makes ipod earbuds thread and that alot of people have tried to score some free in-ears, well I tried at at that and still go the original earbuds, but heres the catch: When I ordered some new buds online, and I checked on the repair status, it said closed, which means they sent out the replacement earbuds, but at that time I thought it meant that they rejected my request, so I requested it again and about a day later the both cases were "closed" and to my surpirse two days later two seperate packages arrived, and both had replacement buds, which gave me an idea......
I ordered some more replacemnts to see if they would send out more and to my uuter suprise I ordered two more and about 4 days later I had both! I had a total of 4 iPod earbuds absolutely free! So I took advantage of this and sold 3 pairs online (ebay) for 20 bux a pop and I have sold all three of them, so I just basically made $60 free!
I might order some more "replacements" (wink, wink) later on to see if they will send out more.

Nothing like a fraud to clog up the channel for folks who really need service. Thanks.
Someday, you'll need service on your iPod but it'll just get botched, delayed, etc. It all comes back around...

where do you go to order replacement buds?

MikeM, this is not a fraud, this is, um, an "experiment", and Apple is a huge billion dollar corparation, do you really believe that just because I order some more replacements that it will cause lots of peoples repairs to be delayed? . The Apple warranty states no limit on the amount of times you can order replacements, so calling my plan a fraud just makes you ignorant, as I am abiding by the warranty rules.
Star, you can order replacements from here

Tell them you earbuds are buzzing or something like that.

I must agree with MikeM. Apple may be a huge corporation, but if everybody fraudulently claimed 4 sets of ear phones then i'm sure i would make a dent.
I just hope that they cotton onto it and invalidate your warranty unless you can prove you've got a problem.
I say more of and eijit than genius.

Well... you're some (http://www.darksites.com/souls/horror/evilguide/index.html) kind of genius anyway. :)

There's a similar discussion to this going on at head-fi.
Personally, I think if you're going to do this, you're out of line, but that's your business.
But to come online and brag to the whole world about what you've done? There's a lot of words to describe that, none of them are genius.
And if you really think MikeM is being 'ignorant', perhaps you should have a look at those warranty rules again. Your buds have to be broken, for a start.
I know who I'll be adding to my list of people never to do business with online.

I think the last line in your post clears me of ignorance.
I don't think your 'experiment' is causing a huge problem. But when you do it and post it here and then others do it, it adds up. Its time someone at Apple has to spend 'helping' you when they could be dealing with an actual problem. Your greed may only affect one other person's return/repair, but that's enough for it to have an impact.
Why do you feel its okay to commit fraud if its towards a large corporation? You're completely absolving yourself of responsibility since your crime doesn't have a big impact. Its time to grow up and be adult.

Fraud is fraud, and certainly bragging about it on a messege board is not genius by any means. It's just straight up dumb.
I'll admit that I also tried to get the Inner Ear phones too. But I really did have faulty rattleing headphones. If I never read that post I might of never sent them in for the same cheap headphones that would probably rattle to in another month. If they decided to replace mine with in ear phones then great, but if not, I'm not going to cry about it.
If anything people like you ruined my chance of getting in ear headphones. They probably noticed that they recieved about 100 requests on the same product really quick and decided not to replace them with in ears.. If that person never posted that they got in ear phones then alot of us that had faulty headphones might of gotten them if we had called.

Why are all you people crying, quit your whining, everyone does things there not suppose to once in a while, so dont act like all of you are saints and would never do anything bad, if Apple cant handle all the requests and are slowing down repairs, then hey, thats there problem, they need to improve their repairs services, so dont point fingers at me and call me a bad guy because people do way worse things.

All it takes is a trip to www.websters.com to see that you are indeed guilty (as hell) of fraud.
Fraud: A deception deliberately practiced in order to secure unfair or unlawful gain
Claiming 4 pair of earbuds simultaneously is FRAUD plain and simple.

Well, frankly, I could give a rats arse about what you people care, call me what you may, just know that 1) I really dont care what you people call me or think about me and 2) I will do as I please, for this is a free country, thank you very much :o

When requesting new earbuds witch option do you choose? request missing accessory or repair defective accessory? I have earbuds that I steped on one and scratched very deep, after that it sorta made a buzzing noise on some of my songs, but the warrenty says it doesn't cover accidental damage, so which one do I choose to get them to send me earbuds without me sending mine to apple?

Hey, its your choice. I believe in karma so I'm sure something will happen to him.
Yes, I asked for replacement for my earbuds hoping to get in-ear. I know I shouldn't have, so I stopped.

Wow... I'm completely blown away. "Free country" doesn't mean a person can defraud a company. I used to work at the 53rd largest company in the WORLD, and it just so happened to be the largest industry-standard server manufacturer in the world, as well. I was in the Services organization, and for a time, worked warranty support. You'd be surprised how just a few people taking advantage of a gratis or consumable warranty item could deplete stocks and make the item(s) unavailable for those truly needing warranty service.
While not exactly the same as the earbud replacement policy at Apple, we had this problem about 6 years ago with some DIMMs that had flux contamination problems, and just about everyone with those types of DIMMs wanted theirs replaced, even if there was no evidence of flux contamination. While this was not a true "consumable" warranty item, there was considerable turn-around time, as we sent out DIMMs before we got theirs back, but it did hurt others that truly had contaminated DIMMs.
Moral of the story: yes, even when dealing with multi-national billion dollar corporations, the actions of a select community can deplete stocks of warranty items and effect those that TRULY deserve the service.
What the Infamous Mobb is doing is immoral, fraudulent, and just plain wrong. I can't believe that people can be so inconsiderate of others as to be able to justify theft, regardless of their assertions that it was only "an experiment." As if we all were born yesterday...
Sad. Just sad, really.

gotta agree on this...and really, my 2cents: I think this whole thread should be edited, pointed out that we the members of iPodlounge.com are against any type of fraud, then sticky'd. I was thinking actually deleted, but am against fascist measures like revisionist history, and believe in freedom of speech, so, I chnaged my mind. But Mobb, this thinking betrays one of our societal problems m8, "something for nothing" hurts us all.

I think they fixed the problem.......
I went to send back my headphones without even reading this post. My Headphones just stopped playing sound all together... I was curious to see if I could order 2 pairs and I tried again just to see.
It said "A service request has already been submitted for the same unit and is recorded as incomplete."
Then I went to see if it would give it to me with the request missing accessory option and I got the same thing
I guess they fixed the problem...........
I say this should be locked or deleted before other people read it and try to get the free headphones
