I found that when i put cds onto my ipod i could easily click "get info" and change it to the right genre but with mp3s it will not let me edit their genre or the name. i am also getting the same artist about 6 times due to the . and the spaces being in different places. how can i change the info about the mp3's?cheers ppl!

What are you using to import CD's? If iTunes just right click on 'get info' and when the box opens click on 'info' tab and just type the changes into the box and then click 'ok'. It will change.
If you want to change several at one time then click on the song then go to the last song you want to change, hold down the shift key and left click on the song. When the box opens, you can change the genre, then click 'ok'.
Artist: While your changing the genre you can also change the artist name so that each one matches.
When importing CD's, check the songs before you import them to make sure the artist and genre are what you want it to be.

Holding the shift key now saves me a lot of time and I can organise my MP3's properly!!
