Just bought myself an iPod mini as a birthday (ish) treat. Cant wait to get my hands on it (understandably), but I know you cant use iTunes under anything except XP and 2000. I wondered what other users have under similar conditions, as I dont really want to upgrade my OS. Any advice would be most welcome.

ehh... technicly the ipod isnt suported under Windows ME at all... i dont know of any software that makes it any easier to use you ipod on ME, but i do know alot of people have problems with it - however, i also know people who have used an ipod with 98 and ME without any problem. I think its kinda hit or miss at this point.
the problem is itunes isnt programed to run on a dos bassed OS... and apple has not releasd any drivers for the ipod and ME
when you to insall your ipod with ME it gives an error of some sort.
you can try to add the ipod manually by using the 'add new hardware' wizzard in the control panel.
on another note, you did say you didnt wanna update your OS .......... but windows xp is a marked improvement over 98 amd ME... its worth the $99US update price. you'll get a much more stable environment as well as more features.
