earphone is broken in the first week :S

I just bought my ipod.. very pleased with it except for the earphone...
it sux $@%#.
The bass response sux.
It gets distortions a lot.
I was testing it... i had the volume at 100% for 1-2 mins.. and it broke :S
now i can hear broken bass even on 50% of volume.
The earphone.. so doesnt match this marvellous mp3 player.
It cant even handle the full volume of the ipod.

I am thinking of getting the Ipod in-earphone, is it good???

does waranty cover my earphone???

they free headphones you get on american airlines flights are better than the stock ipod earbuds..... try sony or panasonic headphone... i kno alot of people who are unhappy with the apples headphone products
