My GF recently got a iPod for her graduation and i've been trying to figure out how to import all my dance CDs into it. Unfortunately 90% of my CD's are continuous tracks. Is there software i can import these CDs into a single MP3/MP4 file without the gap between songs?. I see iTunes doesn't do this unless i can't figure out how too. Would greatly appreciate a simple way to doing this.

iTunes will import multiple tracks on a CD into one large MP3/AAC file. After inserting the CD, highlight all of the tracks on the CD and then select the "Join CD Tracks" option from the "Advanced" menu. You should now see that the tracks that you selected to be joined are marked by a bracket spanning all of the tracks.

AWESOME!. Will try this when i get home.

Also a different question, is there a way i can view the iPod as a hard drive?. And also when buying music from iTunes building up my music library, Will i be able to back up my tracks, especially the tracks that were purchased?. If my system ever crashes or if i transfer my data onto a larger drive (which i'm going to do in the near future), can i just copy my MP3/MP4 tracks and import them to the iPod/iTunes without a problem?. Just wondering because it seems iTunes has ways to protect files being moved and shared from one system to another. Thanks.

Yes, the iPod can be used as a data storage device (just like any hard drive). You need to enable this option in iTunes (when the iPod is connected to the computer). Go into the iPod options and check the "Enable disk use" option.

Yes you will be able to copy your iTunes to a CD or DVD if you have a burner. Just go to Edit>Preferences>Burning tab and see if your burner is listed there if you have Windows. First, you will have to make a playlist with the songs you wish to burn.
