I just walked in my local Bi-Lo and saw an Altoid can. Revelation! Heh, I thought that maybe if I got that tin altoid can I could use it like a case and put my iPod in it. I was thining about maybe glueing some foam to the sides and then makin a lil hole at the top for earphones. I then went to pick up the can. I put my iPod on top and whoa, iPod's way too big. I'm trying to find a nice looking tin can that opens up like the altoid can. I'm trying to a tin can that is for the most part the same shape as the iPod and just maybe about a half a cm too large on each side so I could put the foam in. I spent about an hour just walking around to see if anything would work but all mint cans are the same size....I saw a sardine can that would work but it doesnt have hinges and once you open it....thats it. I would appreciate any help on my little project. Thanks.

Great idea. Sorry I can't help. If anyone does, I'd love to try it myself. I love DIY (Do-It-Yourself) items. They save lots of money!

I found a web site for you that sells small metal enclosures.
You might find something that works for you.

altoids also come in a big can (At least they used to, but I don't see it on their website) that has maybe, 3 times the volume, so you could use more foam and still have room for headphone or iTrip storage.
