curious where everyone got their Sennheiser mx400 from. Ive been to the mall and fry's electronics to no availl. BB, CC, and all those dont have any on their website so im assuming they dont carry them.

I live in San Francisco if that helps. Dont want to buy them online just rather pick them up.

I got mine from Amazon, but I've seen them at Strawberries, Tweeter, Target, and at the Apple store. YMMV as I live on the opposite coast.

How do the mx400's compare to the earphones that come with the iPods?

How much do they cost?

How do they compare? I think they're clearer than the Apple buds and seem to deliver more sound per unit of volume. As for price, under $20 USD.

They blow them away! Not as good as my Grados, but good for earbuds. Better than any other buds at that price. I got mine for $17 from Amazon, but I've seen them at eCost.com for about $10.

Try checking Radio Shack. I got mine there.

ended up getting a pair of the mx500's at cambridge soundworks in san ramon. 19 bucks and right next door was radio shack and got the silicon earbud things for 2.99. All in all im very happy with the sennheiser's they are 10x better sounding then my stock ipod ones and they are more comfortable too.

You mean these (http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F007%5F003%5F001%5F000&product%5Fid=33%2D1994)?

Do those work good?

The link points to the bud covers, not the Senns. A search for Sennheiser in Radio Shack Online doesn't return any buds.

That's what I was talking about, the bud covers. I was asking if they work good with the MX400.

Sorry. My brain didn't process your question. Yes the covers are nice and work well. I prefer foams for fit (personal thing... funny ears) but these are quite comfortable.

are you supposed to use just the covers or just the silicon pads or use both at the same time. The mx500/mx400 out of the box with the foams are pretty damn comfy and a good fit. I bought the silicon pads just not sure the optimal way.

Foams/pads... whatever floats your boat. I've never thought of using them together and think they might be too big for my ears if I did.

In my ears, the covers do seem to isolate a bit more, but, as previously stated, the foams just work better for my ear shape.
