I'd like to buy an iSkin and/or Lajo case for my iPod and cutting two holes (w/ an xacto or scissors) along the bottom sides to fit into a Proclip Car Holder (http://www.ipodlounge.com/reviews_more.php?id=3448_0_6_0_M) .
Has anyone tried cutting their cases? Can it work or do they tend to tear?
I cut my Lajo Zip case to have bigger holes for the hold button and headphone jack. I didn't run into any problems.
The silicone will cut very easily, but how clean the cut is depends on how well you are with your xacto. I would not do it with scissors. Definately use the xacto.

Well, the holes will be bigger than for the hold button to be sure.
I probably don't have a real steady hand either. I'll try to use an Xacto though, but probably not with the iPod still in the case.
I would definately not do it with the iPod in the case. You could try putting something else in it's place that you can cut on.

Yeah, that's what I was trying to figure out. A block of wood perhaps? They should make fake "Test" ipods for this sort of thing.

fake iPods, just what we need! My recommendation is a block of wood that you cut to stay the shape of the iPod.
