Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. I got a 15gb 3g ipod about a month ago, but its started getting scratchs on it! I need to know which case would prevent this! obviously there are going to be different opinions, but i really know which case to buy!!!!! Thanks

I'm curious about this also,

I have another brand new iPod and I want to buy the best case/skin I can,I don't care about the price I just want something really cool that will protect my iPod,

I would quite like something steel/aliminum howerver I don't know that you can get them for g3 iPods.

The oPod, when it becomes available. Check it out at http://www.otterbox.com, then click on iPod products. Looks awesome! I'm certainly getting one.

A) To the original poster, I think you could ask this and get 40 different answers.

B) Why would you recommend the oPod as the best case when it's not even generally available yet? Wouldn't something of more longevity be a more appropriate recommendation?

to Prudence: I think that the oPod will be awesome. It may not be yet, but when it comes out it will be. I'm certainly getting one for myself!

I agree with prudence though, i mean if the original question is what is the best case avaiilable, meaning now, how can you recommend a case that isn't even out yet? What proves that this is the best case when no one has even tested it. You are generally gonna get different answers because some people like the skins, which i hate, but some people like them. Some people like myself prefer more of the neoprene case like the Marware sportsuit Convertible. Then others like the hard case like the contour showcase, which by the way makes your iPod huge and bulky. So it's all in the eye of the beholder. Different cases meet different needs of different users. My recommendation is to check out the reviews on this web page and see what each case has to offer and decide what you are looking for.

The Contour Showcase does NOT make you Ipod look huge and bulky. I use the 20gig pod in my Showcase and I actually measured the showcase vs the stock Apple Ipod black slipcase. The dimensions with Ipod inserted -- height, width, depth -- are the same! And it weighs, with belt clip, half an ounce more. The protection is superb and the rubber feels nice and well rubbery to the touch!

You gotta love the Contour Showcase.

luckily, you don't HAVE to love the contour showcase. I just never liked it. The case gets really dirty, the clip is cheap and quick to pop off and there is no shock protection what so ever. I have two friends who dropped their iPods off their waist due to the clip snapping off and it completely ruined their iPods. In my opinion the softer cases just provide the shock protection and scratch protection that are ideal.

the opod is water-proof

ShEEp: Actually, the oPod case is water-resitant, not water-proof...big difference.
