Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. I have run into a problem I have owned a pair of sony MDR-G52 headphones (the ones that wrap around the back of your head) and they have been losing some of their sound quality and have also attracted a very annoying rattle.
I have also longed to own a pair of earbuds but all the ones that I have tried do not stay in my ear do to the fact that I have verry small ears and also i do not have the lip that is right above your earlobe.
To solve this and my earphones dilema I have started to look into custom headphones and I was wondering if any of you could help me because i feel a bit overwhelmed and frustated. (keep in mind I am 15 and do not have a job so I am looking for a good pair of custom earphones that are below 150 or near that.)

thx
Jack

I seriously don't think you're going to be able to purchase a true set of custom earphones for less than $150. Most of the custom ones I've seen are $500+.

You might consider a pair of "canalphones" with interchangeable tips such as the Shure E2's (approx. $100) or E3's (approx. $179). The custom tips come in a variety of sizes, making it easy to get a proper fit in your ear. The Sony MDR-EX71's also include different size tips, and are a cheaper option (approx. $40).

Thx for your oppion i did a little more browsing and i found ones that cost around 200 which i think i can extend to. they include a mold kit (which i think i can handle with out making myself go deaf) and the sony mdr-ed268 which i am not verry fimiliar with and i have also seen mixed reveiws about them so i have some mixed feelings about this possible purchase i was wondering if you had any info on the sony mdr-ed268 thx

I would consider a real canalphone first... the Sony MDR-ED263 sucks just as much as most of all Sony's low-end products.

Shure E2c and so forth is probably the first path of action to take...
