Lilipod is underwater safe + splash safe but the earphones arn't, y?

I know that the Lilipod is splash/underwatersafe, but to my knowledge the ipod earphones are not. why would they do this as surely you cant listen to it in the water? I'm confused.

"Underwatersafe" is not something I would like to find out with the Lillipod. The case may be OK for use on the surface i.e swimming, but as soon as you start going any deeper you run into problems of increased pressure.

That's the way most underwater cases are. "Water-Resistant" is the most-used term now. It's for a quick swim or running in the rain.
