I heard people said that in-ear earphone like Sony MDR-EX71SL cause damage to your ear-drum as the sound hit directly to your ear and not allowing any sound to come in and go out. Is that really true?

I've only heard that they are safer because you don't crazy high volume, especially in noisy situations.
For many years, musicians and audiophiles have had custom in-ear molds made fro headphones by audioologists/other ear professionals. I think if there was evidence of these phones causing trouble, the professionals would be bringing this up. And they could be but I've only seen positive opinions.

Been using them for months with no apparent hearing loss. Just don't go mad with the volume, advice I imagine applies to any in-the-ear phones.
