I JUST purchased an iPod from Crutchfield (They're having a $100 off the price if you sign up for Audible.com ) and I hear the stock earbuds just aren't that great.

I currently own a pair of Sennheiser HD600s and am VERY pleased with them. But they're a bit big for portability (And a bit expensive, I don't want to lose them/have them stolen).

That said, I'm having a tough time choosing between the 3 headphones I see suggested most.

The Sennheiser PX100s seem to a good pair, and I've got respect for Sennheiser. The PX200s seem a little more hit or miss -- and I just don't care *that* much for sealed headphones. (Although, when I get richer, I may look into some Etymotic ER-4S)

I'm also not huge on Bass, and really do prefer quality over that rattling. So I don't think I really need the Sony's (X71s?).

And that leaves the Sharp MD33s. I can't even find these to purchase anywhere (I usually go through Dealtime.com, because you can find them good and cheap.)

Which would you suggest for quality: Sharp MD33s or the Sennheiser PX100s?

And where would I even begin to look to purchase the Sharp MD33's?

(Price is a bit of consideration, by the way. The iPod drained my funds. If the Sennheiser and Sharps are close in quality, I'll definitely lean towards the Sennheiser's, as they're only $34 on Amazon.)

I believe the Sharp's are only available over in Japan, check out the AudioCubes web site:
http://www.audiocubes.com

From what I understand, they'll ship to the U.S. no problem. They're listed on their site for $39.00 USD.

Yeah I just purchased the MD33's from audiocubes today, total was $48, not too bad at all. They looked to be the best ones for under $50.

Koss Portapro2's are only 19.99 at Circuitcity.com. I got em for 21.75 including tax and shipping, and for 21 dollars for the caliber of these headphones it's an absolute steal.

I hear it's a little bass heavy, but apparently cutting a nickel-sized hole in the pads will do the trick.

Sennheiser px 100s are a great deal also. i would've gotten them, but for a college student like me there is a difference in paying 20 and 40 bucks, especially when both do just fine, although the px100 is just a tad bit better
