I need to purchase a new set of earphones for my ipod and need them to come in before this sunday as Im leaving for a week.

I have read the forums and people recommend many different earphones, ranging from the SONY ex71SL, to the Kresser somethings...

What do you recommend I get? I want small portable ear bud headphones, I dont really like the whole in the ear canal thing, more of the ear bud thing, but am willing to go with the ear canal (in ear) phones if they are really worth it. Im willing to spend up to 50 bucks. Any suggestions? Quick replies appreciated as I want to order this ASAP (today)

I also see these seinheser mx500 ear phones? I understand that those are the only ones that compete with the SONY's?

You need to set a price limit on how much you're willing to spend on a near pair of earphones. There's outrageously expensive earphones that's way beyond the reach of an average person, with sound quality to match. Then there's the "bargain" at a certain price range.

For example, I use a pair of Sensaphonics ProPhonic Soft 2X that's $800... there's Ultimate Ears UE-10 Pro at basically $1000 or so...

Let us know how much you're willing to spend first.

Senn MX500s are great.

Get Radio Shack replacement earbud foams, p/n 33-376. What a great sound for little $$. They have a respectable, balanced bass response. Definitely not "boombox" thump but very musical.

You won't be dissapointed and you have an extra $25 for CDs!

Hehehe.. I must've read too fast, I completely missed that you mentioned a price range. Yeah, I would say MX500 is your best choice for earbuds within that range.
