I am the proud owner of a pair of Sony MDR-E888SP (short cord) and am interested in obtaining an extension cable for them them so that I can use them without the remote sometimes. Online I can only find cables that are 6ft+ in length and appear to be much thicker than the cord on the MDR-E888SP. I searched Sony's sites (a few around the world) and came up empty.

The MDR-EX71's come with the extension so I am assuming that is the part I want but I cannot find it sold separately or get a part #.

Anyone out there know someplace I can locate an 2-3 ft "extension female to male stereo mini extension cord/cable". BTW, the items in quotes were my fruitless terms used in googling to find the item I am looking for.

I would even be willing to pay someone for the cord that came with their MDR-EX71's or similar if they are willing to part with it.

I would check your local radio shack, they probably have something.

It is just a short extension cord, if your handy with a soldering iron you could even make one (the plugs would be a little bit bulky though).

you can buy these at most electronics part stores.

The ones at Radio Shack and similar places online are too long (6 ft min) and too thick. I really want the one from Sony. Why don't they sell it as a accessory part?

Success. Found the item (Sony RK-G111S) at AudioCubes:

A little pricey @ $12 plus $9 S&H but it appears to only be sold in Japan.
