"Party Shuffle" with iPod

Alright, so I've updated iTunes and my iPod both and I still haven't been able to figure out how I get the new "Party Shuffle" feature to work with my iPod. Is there something else I have to do to make the "Party Shuffle" see my iPod as a valid source or do all my songs have to be in my libary?

Party Shuffle only appears in iTunes and not on your iPod.

I know that, I want to use the "Party Shuffle" as a way to play my iPod in iTunes instead of just letting it play on regular shuffle

Speaking of new features of latest version of iTunes and iPod, anyone know what's in firmware 2.2 if party shuffle is not one of them?
