Well I found a Irish Rovers album and was wondering if anyone could recommend more traditional irish music? And if you haven't heard em try and find The Irish Rovers-The life of the rover it's quite nice, anyways hopefully some can help me with this:D

If you're really desperate you could try some old Dropkick Murphys albums, they're irish folk punk. They got some nice tunes but if you don't like noisy pub music then this isn't your cup of tea ;)

You may well enjoy The Chieftains, who've been around for years and have a marvellous catalogue of work. They've also some interesting CDs of collaborations with guest vocalists in recent years.
Clannad also have a large catalogue, with really haunting vocals. You may be familiar with Enya, her sister is Clannad's singer.
Planxty are also well worth investigating, a band Christy Moore featured in, also his other band Moving Hearts.
I've tried to make suggestions of artists that would feature 'traditional' sounds - bodhran, oilean pipes, tin whistle, harp etc.
If you need some other direction feel free to ask.

Further, for some traditional style music with a rock edge, give Horslips a try.

I know you said traditional, but Great Big Sea is a really great Canadian band that fuses traditional Newfoundland folk tunes (a province which has a strong Irish heritage) with pop and folk. Whenever I introduce someone to their music, they're hooked! :)

Of what's available on iTMS, I recommend Turn. The two newer albums (Sea of No Cares and Something Beautiful) are good, but more pop than past albums. They both have very good songs on them, too, though! Too bad they don't have Road Rage (live album) on iTMS... definitely their best. :) There's nothing like hearing Mari Mac, General Taylor, or The Night Pat Murphy Died live!

Thanks guys, I don't think the rovers are traditional now that I think about it. I got some of the chieftains, quite nice btw, so I'll see what the rest of your recommendations are about. Thanks again.
