Not sounding so good anymore iTunes price increase (http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/05/07/apple_itunes_price_rises/)

The world's five biggest music labels have successfully forced Apple to increase the prices it charges for songs on the online iTunes Music Store.

Doesn't effect me in anyway. I'll still continue to download music illegally.

I rarely buy anything from these labels. I don't like most music written after the mid 70s.

There's a good discussion on /. about this:

It looks like someone got some bad information. Apple is denying it. (http://www.reuters.co.uk/newsArticle.jhtml?type=internetNews&storyID=5077667&section=news)

Hope the price hike is just a rumor. A higher price will definitely discourage more people from using buying music by songs.

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Apple Computer has flatly denied a report that the computer maker was planning to raise prices for songs bought on its popular iTunes online music store.

Thats good to hear. I guess you can't believe everything you see and hear, now can you?

I...I...I... dont belive it.

Yeah if they were to go up to 1.25 i would be really angry. BUt htte thing that would put me over teh deep end would be the increase in the albums. THats teh only reason i buy itunes albums (besides the quickness) is that they are like $3 cheaper then most places ie wallmart

albums on Itunes are NOT always cheaper then buying the CD

next time you go to buy an album, check some of the online CD sites and see if you're getting a deal.
but with modern music the way it is, there's usually only 3 or 4 tracks on the entire cd worth listening to.

I don't know why people are so angry at the price "hike" to $1.25. In the UK we have to pay $1.78 (?1)
