Does anyone have this on their iTunes, I opened up iTunes the other day and I had two random playlists from different people, and when I click on them there's a little icon at the bottom right that says "disconnect from shared music server." does anyone else have this, is it some new feature for iTunes 4.5? can anyone tell me more? or how to get different playlists, thanks

iTunes has had that feature since 4.0 (on the Mac).
iTunes allows you to stream music from other people on your LOCAL AREA network.
Therefore, what you have is all you'll get-- you can't add shared music from the internet.
Could you not just set up a VPN (Virtual Private Network) and share the playlists like that?

My husband and I are networked, as we use RoadRunner. He's XP, I'm OSX. We both turned on our sharing for fun, and *pop* we each showed up in each other's iTunes. Nifty, but since we both have the same stuff, kinda pointless for us... LOL! But I thought it was cool.

Yeah me and my brother are both on xp computers and can view each others library and playlist which is kinda cool.
Only downside is that to view a users songs the other person must be connected and have itunes open.
I cant wait till next year in the dorms wonder how many shared library's will be on there?

I have friends who live in one of the ASU dorms, and the whole dorm basically agreed to switch to iTunes for this feature alone-- There's usually 50-100 libraries available on there. :D

unless you use a program called "mytunes" which lets you download whatever you listen to from other librarys

MyTunes won't work with iTunes 4.5... Apple broke it (on purpose), and the MyTunes developer is not continuing development.
No more Windows Rendezvous downloading, until someone else does the work.
(Mac people have GetTunes, which *has* been updated for iTunes 4.5)
