I'll do my best to explain what I wanna do.

With iTunes 4.5, I'm one step closer to having a feature i've wanted for over 6 months...

Now, I can create a playlist of songs I chose, and create a smart playlist to use just those songs, and have conditions on them.

What I'd like to do, is set up a condition where the smart playlist includes all of the songs selected in a certain playlist, and kicks them out one by one as the songs play count increase by 1.

The logic would be something like:

Smart Playlist include songs in THIS playlist, and remove from Smart Playlist when Play Count is Current Play Count Plus 1.

Right now, I'm sort of achieving this by including songs from a selected playlist, and setting a condition of "has not played in the last 1 day," but that doesn't work if I have more songs in a playlist than I can listen to in a day. It will do for now, but not exactly what I'd like.

Has anyone found a solution to this type of conditional smart playlist?

any help would be great.

thx.

You can make a smart playlist of most recently played songs, set the max number to be 250 or so. Then create a second playlist to include the songs you want, with a parameter to exclude what's in the "recently played" playlist. so when a song is played it will appear in the "recently played playlist" and is taken off of your second one.

does that do what you want?

BRILLIANT!!!

that works. I even went a step further and made my "recetly played" playlist only choose songs recently played from the playlist I want songs kicked out from.

So, it's almost like the "Listening Today" smart list hands songs off to the "recently played" list.

Works great, thanks!
