For my part, being able to choose music stored on my stationary machine with large capasity on my ibook, would be a great feature. When apple have integrated filesharing between iTunes clients, why is it then not possible to use this music in the party shuffel feature (or creating playlists on client)?

I would like to use my ibook in the living room during a party, while i have the music stored on my stationary pc in my study.

Is this a mac vs. windows problem, or are there other reasons?

I don't think this is a platform issue. When you access someone's shared music through iTunes, you can't manipulate or edit that music, nor as it appears use Party Shuffle.

My recommended work around is, since your iBook is apparently networked with your primary computer, log in to that computer from the iBook and import its music folder into iTunes on the iBook. Be sure to have "keep music folder organized" and "copy to iTunes music folder when importing" turned off. The songs will stay on your primary computer, but will play fine through iTunes and you will be able to use Party Shuffle on the iBook.

Hope this helps. I'm on a Mac myself, so PM me if you need any help walking throught he process.

Im not 100% satisfied yet.

When i import my library to the ibook, it doesn`t take in consideration my ratings or any of the other parameters set by itunes on my primary computer. (of obvious reasons since i just imported the songs)

But, why doesn`t apple just let you use you shared files in party shuffel, when you have access to the music with this workaround anyway. I just don`t get it.

It would make life easy....
