What's the best way to share iTunes music on two computers in the same networked house? Ideally, I'd like it configured so when one computer adds music, the other see the addition automatically.

Right now, we're sharing music by pointing both computers to a shared drive/directory. Is the "Sharing" option within iTunes a better method?

Finally, is there a way for iTunes to scan for new music additions in a folder and all of it's sub-folders? I know that's an option when you first install iTunes, but haven't found that function since.

Thanks in advance...

iTunes is not capable (yet) of scanning folders to add music to your library. You have to add the songs directly to iTunes.

I don't know of a simple way to make both computers dynamically display the same library. You can have the computers point to the same music folder in a share drive, but each version of itunes will have it's own library database, so I think you'd need to add songs to to iTunes on both computers if you want the libraries duplcated. Search the forums to see if someone has found an easier way.

Good luck,

Chris
