I have upgraded to iTunes 4.5 and also updated the iPod software and I see there are a few people playing with the iMix feature -- I see where I can browse iMix albums in the music store but how do I publish my own?

Never mind, I figured it out!

I like this feature. Being able to see what other people are listening to is interesting. It's another way to explore music that you may not have heard of or to find out about other talents that aren't as well known but have similar sounds to what you do like.

If anyone has published an iMix playlist, please post links so we can check out what you've got. Here's mine:

i found this on the methodshop.com website:

"The iMix function is great, but my favorite new feature in iTunes 4.5 is the ability to add song previews to your playlists. For example, I thought it would be funny to submit an iMix called *One to Tango: Songs with a Masturbation Theme* to the iTunes Music Store (iTMS). But most of the songs on the list were pretty lame and I had no interest in buying them just to make a silly iMix. Honestly, I'd rather go to the dentist than purchase the Britney Spears single for "Touch of my Hand." Instead, I found the songs in the iTMS and built my playlist using 30 free samples that were all available online. I rearranged my tracks according to a desired sequence and submitted it."

it's a pretty funny iMix i must say

The thing i dont understand is how it determines what songs in your playlist get published... i have serveral that are on the same album as whats listed, but didnt make it on the imix. i.e. my real playlist has more than what was published.
and, yes, i know it will only show songs that are available at the ITMS.

here's an iMix that I found to be really great. it's got all the really bad music that's available in iTunes. so bad, they're good.

I'm kinda digging Arnold Swartzeneger's (sp?) version of "It's Raining Men." It's not what you think, but still amazing that it was ever pressed. Also the Lounge-o-lere's "Xanadu' is worth a listen. Not on the list, but their version of "My Heart Will Go On" hits the spot just right. Any way check it out.

So now we know how iTunes is able to boast a 70,000 song catalog.

enjoy
