Forgive me if this sounds dumb, as I am new to iTunes and iPods.
I read that the newly released iTunes 4.5 has support for WMA files which are not copy protected. Does this mean that the iPod will also play these files, since it and iTunes are so tightly integrated?
Thank you.

i think you can convert them to mp3 for use on the iPod

But the answer is no, the iPod can't play WMA files. You have to convert them first.

Please, enlighten us! I for one would LIKE to be able to do this.....
I've just spent ages downloading iTunes 4.5 and then WM player 9 so that I could get tunes off MyCokeMusic in WMA and then convert them to AAC, then it says it won't as they're 'protected'.
What does this mean and is there a way round?

When downloading from mycokemusic.com the tracks are protected - you cant just turn it off! I know where you're comming from but you've got the wrong end of the stick!
