If you want to simply synch with the ipod, go with ephpod. Xplay synchs nicely as well, but it doesn't do anything else--if you're going to fork out money for an application that works with the Ipod, I'd strongly recommend going with Media Center 9--it does much, much more than Xplay--synchs with the ipod, rips, encodes, burns, etc.

The nice thing about both Xplay and Media Center 9 is that you can trial both for 30 days for free, then decide which one suits you best.

I downloaded Ephpod. And if i wanted to used either x-play or MC9, will i need to uninstall Ephpod? The reason I asked is because I read about some people having troubles in syncing with x-play, and they end up uninstalling the MMJB. The problem went away afterward.

You won't need to uninstall ephpod--during MC9's development, when it was in beta, I'd occasionally use ephpod if MC9 was having problems.

Can't help you with Xplay, never had it on my HD at the same time with MC9.

that ephpod installs, that also expires 15 days after install.
Is it a necesasry application for using ephpod? And simply syncing?
thanks

macopener is not needed.

It was used before when the first iPods came out as mac only...

I believe that you can use a winiPod on a Mac, but you cant use a maciPod on a windows machine (or is it the other way around?). To do the later, you'll probably need macopener...

I tried out EphPod, its really nice! works great and has lots of nice options. Xplay have some bugs i dont like, but is very simple and easy. But I guess I`ll go with EphPod from now on....

xplay is purely a window explorer... drag and drop type of syncing... i would like to use ephpod, but xplay is the only one supports mp3 with unicode/chinese format

ephpod definitely has a bit more options.

os x recognises fat32. windows doesn?t recognise hfs+, so you need to format your ipod to fat32, if it should run with ephpod without macopener.

@ jah, ephpod can?t rip cd?s. the best way to rip cd?s and encode them to mp3?s is using eac/lame.

thx mrm .. 1 more questions .. is MC9 one of the best progs to rip music?

i don?t know. i?ve never used mc9. i guess it all depends on how specific you are. i recommend eac/lame. just read the chris myden link. it?s all fairly easy actually. you just have to get the hang of it. try out mc9 and see for yourself. if you?re happy with the results, there is no need to look any further. why don?t you ask the question how good mc9 is in ripping compared to eac/lame, in the mc9 forum? that way you?ll know for sure.

Easy CD-DA extractor... I have been using this program for about a year now. The best part about it is it's interface is extremely easy to use and you can rip in almost all bit rates and use LAME or WMA... Plus, you can convert mass amounts of music from one format to another... it's fabulous, trust me...
