iTrip Compatibility

A friend of mine is selling his 1G iTrip. I have a 3G iPod. If I were to buy his old iTrip, would it work with mine? The box says it was built for the 1st gen iPods, but not sure if it was still compatible with the newer ones?

Never mind. After a bit of research it appears the 1G are NOT compatible with the 3G.
